I am a true case of it's all in who you know, because one of the PAWS volunteers is my family's babysitter. They wanted to get a new cat for the kids because the other cat in the household was old and not doing well. Because Anthea knew the family and the household, she was able to make a purrfect match. Everyone always assumed I would be adopted right away because I am so sweet and very pretty, but no one filled out an application on me. It took 27 trips to PetSmart and a personal friendship between one of the PAWS volunteers and my family, but I finally went to a wonderful home with kids and other pets to play with. I am thankful for the dedication of everyone at PAWS to find me a home.
Oscar M
Oscar is doing great! He loves his cat tree. Oscar follows Bill everywhere he goes. He jumps in his lap as soon as he sits down. Loves the attention. Always purring. Oscar has already bonded with our older Weimaraner Webster. They sit together and Oscar rubs up against him. A few times when Webster wasn't attentive enough Oscar just taps him on the head to get his attention - no claws. We can't believe how well he has adjusted in such a short time. Thanks for all your help in bringing Oscar to us. We love him already! Our youngest Weimaraner Wilson is no longer afraid of Oscar and they get along great. I can't believe we didn't have one dog/cat fight. Oscar roams the house like he owns it. Whenever he is around the dogs he just walks between their legs to get to where ever he wants to go. Mona, I have to tell you he is the best cat we have ever had! And we have had many cat's in our lives. He even gets along with our cockatoos. We all sleep in the same bed together. Our oldest weimaraner sleeps on his side and Oscar curls up between his legs against his chest. They never move all night. Oscar now loves to go outside in the pool cage and spends hours laying next to the aviary watching the birds. None of our birds are afraid of him. He gets nose to nose with them all the time. Oscar is never far from where I am. As soon as I sit down he is in my lap purring. He is a very affectionate cat. I applaud you for what you do. ~Bill and Thea
Trevor
He is doing Great. We have a 14 year old female kitty. She likes to sleep in the back room, so we have been closing that door and letting him free when she's in the back. Taking turns out and about. They have met and he growled and she hissed. My daughter is visiting, so she is sleeping in the room with Trevor. He is his curious self. He is already friends with everyone. Someone is always home to spoil him since my mother-in-law lives with us. He is a perfect fit for our family. Our kittie has always had another cat around, and her friend (also 14) just died in October. He was free about the house day and nite after only 4 days. He still growls a bit when faced to face with our older female kitty. They now will get nose to nose. She just looks at him like she is thinking "give me a break. You're not so tough." He follows us everywhere and is quite a lap cat. ~Barbara
Penny
The boys are curious and gentle. Penny is roaming the house and eating and drinking. She purred her way on the bed for most of the night. Penny is such a sweetheart. She is very loving, comes when we call her and always gives us lots of rubs and purrs. She is exploring her new home more each day but is still very cautious and getting used to all the different house sounds. She played with some puff balls and her new catnip stuffed carrot yesterday for awhile. She likes to sit on the small cat perch that just reaches the bottom of the bedroom window and watch the birds. She climbed up to the top of one of the tall cat trees today and spent some time looking out the window from the top perch. While she was looking out at the world, Shadow decided to take up residence at the bottom of the tree. UPDATE: Penny is doing great. Thanks to your letting us know that she had been bullied by other kitties we were able to figure out that her reaction to Shadow and Nittany was caused by fear. By sitting on the floor with her while the two boys came over to get acquainted we were able to make her comfortable. Penny and the boys now get along great and play together all the time. They even sleep near each other. She loves to be in the same room with us and is very affectionate. We just love having her. ~Barb
