This nice (and EXTRA LARGE kitty) was given up at the county shelter on 8/25/11. Their owner was in hospice and she asked the hospice nurse to please be sure the Romy and his brother, Little Man, had a good home. The nurse promised and found them a home after the lady passed away in April. However one of the new owners developed allergies and the hospice nurse was having a nervous breakdown (I don't know how they cope with that job) and the kitties went to the county shelter which is where we heard of them. The shelter was out of room and one of these guys sneezed which meant they were going to be killed.
We pulled them, and placed them within just a few weeks, they went to a home together.
We found out a few months ago that Romy's brother passed away. Then the adoptive family is unable to keep Romy, after 3 years, due to Rheumatoid Arthritis (hard to clean those pans and do basic stuff).
So Romy is back in foster care.....
Romy is over TWENTY pounds - sure feels like a ton of bricks when you are picking them up in a cat carrier!!!
Romy uses his paw to drink water, instead of lapping water like most cats do!!!
Note the pictures are from 2011 when Romy was in the foster room with the other cats we had then. We will get new pictures ASAP.
We let him have the guest bath at first, and waited for his "cue" that he was ready to come out. Well, that happened within a day so now he's just lounging around the house like the other fosters. Took him about 2 days to get used to the routine. Romy is a smart guy!!!
