Goosey and Luci
Sugar & Spice (aka Luci & Goosey) are all settled in and doing marvelously! They are just the sweetest, most adorable, inquisitive little angels! They are eating their dry food and wet food and
drinking plenty of water. They found the litter box right away. "We had lot's of fun our first night in our new home with our new mommy. We played and snuggled for hours and wore ourselves out! All weekend we've been familiarizing ourselves with our new home and have been very active. We have run and jumped and played with our toys and on our cat trees and on the fireplace and the couches and the windowsills. Oh boy are we tired! We take lots of naps in comfy places all over the house. We have 2 new brothers, Oreo & Rocky. We are trying to make friends with them, but they mostly just hiss and run away from us. Sometimes when we are sleeping, they come and sniff us. Today they stopped running away and just got way up high where we can't jump yet and watched us play. Pretty soon we'll be great friends! We miss you, but wanted you to know that we are doing really well and are very happy to be in our forever home! Thank you for taking care of us when we were little and sick!!" ~Love, Sugar & Spice (Luci & Goosey). UPDATE: Sugar & Spice (aka Luci & Goosey) are doing so well! They are perfectly happy and healthy. We are really enjoying our first Christmas season together! I love them very much!! Just wanted to drop you a note to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks again for taking such good care of them and letting me adopt them.
Heidi M
I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! The first day you could just tell this one was going to work out well. She is probably the fastest adapting little one I've ever had. Stitch, the grey tabby was named for the alien from the disney movie Lilo and Stitch because he was programmed for destruction. Sooo, I renamed Heidi to Lilo (although I really liked her name, it fit her well, so it was a hard decision). Stitch had become too much for my tripod kitty who is older and has issues with only three legs and all, and he was beginning to bully her. Lilo has been WONDERFUL!! Stitch was freaked at first. He followed her around the first day growling under his breath. But Lilo gave him back just as good as he gave her when he finally stopped being freaked and thought he was supposed to terrorize her. It didn't bother her a bit. She'd run from him, but just come back and smack him right back. I separated them at night in case she needed intervention, but by night four, she'd decided she fit in. She has some good places to get away from him when she wants to. But, she never does for more than a minute, she just comes right back at him. I've lost my baby! When Stitch was little, I'd let him sleep between my arms while I was working at the computer. That worked fine when he was little bitty, but he'd grown into a full size cat so this was a problem. He thought he was supposed to tuck himself in at night right in the middle of me working. No more. Stitch is more than pleased to have someone to play with now. They gallop around the house. Lilo is braving walking up to the dog to smell him, and I see her being willing to try to play with him before too long. She is afraid of NOTHING. Whoever has fostered her did such a good job because she is so calm with me, the human, but so energetic with her new pal. She likes a little lovin, but always wants to go right back to playing or even sleeping, or just hanging out with her pal. She has done wonders for him. He was getting so bored being an indoor cat, but now has someone to play with. This was just the best match of all my menagerie! They all like the dog, but none of the cats had anything in common that they bonded. Trinity and Stitch did some, but he was too much for her. Trinity is enjoying just fluffing around unmolested now and watching the wild ones play. It's kind of amusing because even the dog will watch them play. Thank you to you all for being her rescue mommies! I think she is truly happy in her new home! ~Victoria, Gabriel (dog),

Van
I wanted to give you an update on Van who I adopted back in early-February 2009. As you can tell, he has grown a lot since I adopted him at 6 months old. Thank you for taking such good care of him. I remember when I adopted him, you had a concern of Van being in an only cat house; however, you felt that since he was such a loner kitten in your house that maybe he'd do well as an only cat in my house. He’s still pretty much a loner. I play with him but at times he’ll get to the point where he doesn’t want to play anymore and will go and be by himself. It seems to me that he has adjusted well to being the only cat in the house.
I have to tell you, it took a long time for Van to realize that he was in a forever home. Granted I have taken him to the vet for grooming and have left him and always come back to pick him up. I have also boarded him on a couple of occasions and always come back to pick him up. It wasn’t until recently that he figured out that I wasn’t going to give him away. I had to put him in a pet resort while I went out of town for a week. He fussed the whole time I drove over to the pet resort and when Van was getting put into his cat condo, I made sure he was comfortable before I left. Of course, he looked sad but he looked dejected and resigned to the fact that I was giving him away. It was funny --- when I came back to pick him up I called out his name and he looked at me like he didn’t recognize me and then you could tell in his eyes he remembered me and he gave pitiful meow. When I got him home he was being very lovable and it seems he finally realized that he was actually in a permanent home. He now walks around acting like he owns the place but there are times he gets back to his old self but he then remembers that he’s home. As you can see, he’s doing well. ~Elaine
Batman
Batman was adopted with Darlin, who has been renamed Robin. It’s been a week now and Batman and Robin seem to be settled in nicely. They are chasing each other all over the house, and Batman doesn’t run and hide now when anybody gets home. They are almost inseparable, hang out together most of the time; both are very affectionate and purr when they get enough attention and petting. It was tough to catch them both staying put for a minute to get a pic, but here it is. They are energetic and playful and seem to be happy; and they sure are eating well! Still getting used to the dog Spike – he really wants to play with them, but they’re not ready for that yet. They aren’t afraid of him, I think that’s because he remembers the swipe across the nose from my old cat Ralph when I first brought Spike home; he has the proper respect for those sharp claws. I expect they will even warm up to him eventually. ~Steve
Sammy
Sammy is now Ziggy: Ziggy is doing GREAT!! I let him out of his room on the third day and he ran right up to Zero. Zero just ran away and did so for a couple of days. Then, little by little, Zero would let him get closer and closer. They play a little together now, but mostly just chase each other. Ziggy can now jump up onto the bed on his own without having to use the nightstand first. I think the first couple of days he was looking for you and the rest of his friends. He gave out a few different meows for a while. He has claimed two toys as his and is constantly rolling around with them. Oh, and he is a PIG!! He eats all the time, which means he has a healthy appetite. Overall, I would say he has adjusted well. Thank you so much for finding him and putting him on the website. He is an angel and puts a smile on my face everyday! 6 Month UPDATE: We are doing great in the Woronka house. Ziggy and I just wanted to send you an e-mail on the six month anniversary of him coming home here. He is doing SUPER!! He is healthy and happy. It is nonstop with him and his big sister Zero. They make a great pair and are perfect company for each other. He has perfected the act of every morning waking me up ten minutes before my alarm goes off. Usually he has his favorite toy, "Mouse Mouse." He has grown quite the little paunch and loves his treats every night. I can not say THANK YOU enough for rescuing him from the shelter!!! You are truly an earth angel and I wish the world had more people like you. Take care!! ~C.J. and Ziggy
