Description:
Bip is a beautiful lab aussie mix female estimated to be about 5+ years old. Bips was found wandering a wooded area very pregnant. A vet vist the next day comfirmed she was term pregnant and xray showed what we though to be 6-7 pups. She was also a very strong heartworm positive. Just a couple days later Bips gave birth to her perfect healthy puppies in a safe environment. She was a great mother and even though she had every right to be protective she allowed anyone and everyone to play with her pups. We think she was very proud. Her puppies were all adopted as soon as they were ready and Bips began her heartworm treatment. It was a rough road but she is now heartworm negative, spayed and completely vetted. Bips was adopted and was in her home a year and a half when she was returned to rescue. Even though her adopters admitted she was a great dog, completely housetrained and never chewed anything up, they no longer "needed" her. They got Bips due to the husband traveling and he was no longer doing so. Bips sheds and they had to clean up hair often and since they didn't need her for company or protection she no longer wanted to clean up her hair around the house.
Bips is completely housetrained and does not need to be crated. She will not go to the bathroom in the house even if left for 12+ hours. She is a loving loyal dog. She is currenly weighing in at about 70 pounds but needs to lose a few pounds. She should probably weigh about 55 pounds at most but isn't big eater and loves walks so this shouldn't be a problem. She would make a great exercise for partner for someone wishing to loose weight also. She is lab and aussie mix so she has this medium length coat, with great spotted/merle markings, that does shed. She is good with other dogs and likes to play. She is ok with cats and the time she has spent in rescue was always with cats. She loves kids and even when she had puppies she allow the 2 year old in her foster home to lay and play with her and the pups. She has a terrific temperment and is an already trained, easy companion.
All dogs adopted from PAWS have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated appropriately for their age, spayed/neutered, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped. All dogs over 8 months are tested for heartworms.
