Description:
This super sweet female was found while someone was walking their dog and despite asking neighbors, no one claimed her!

She is Ok being held, loves other kitties, enjoys a canned treat and is very playful!

Most people will pass over her adoption because she is positive for Feline Leukemia. We even had the blood test done that checks at the cellular level (called an IFA test) and she definitely has it. So she is in a large enclosure with two other FELV's, Dorie and Wazoo.

Clara is still adoptable, it's just that most people will pass over her thinking she is unhealthy because they don't know about FELV. It's an unpredictable disease and we will be glad to coach adopters about it. We've had cats with FELV live to be 10-12 years old!

Even when the cat becomes "symptomatic" meaning there is symptoms of a cancer or tumor, they can still live a nice life afterward, we've had kitties before who were symptomatic and live several months. However we have also had the opposite, losing them within the month. As with any animal, you never know how long you have with them, it's just with FELV you make sure you get a good look at them more often to keep tabs on their health and demeanor.
