Description:
This very sweet girl was abandoned when her owners moved. They left her outside and she sat on the porch and the neighbors watched her get thinner and thinner. One of the neighbors had a family member who adopted from PAWS so we got a call. The first piece of advice was to go feed the kitty!! Nothing is more cruel than watching an animal starve and thirst on its front porch!
The second thing we asked for were pictures. The pictures we got showed a cat so friendly it rubbed all over you so getting pictures was very hard.
The very next day we get a distress call, they fed the cat the day before but overnight someone had "painted it blue". So we coordinated with another rescuer, who got in touch with yet another rescuer, and they worked out a transport to get it to a PAWS foster mom. The vet agreed to see the cat immediately the next day.
Lucky for the cat, and all of us, it was just sidewalk chalk - the cat must have rolled in it! (see other pictures showing blue areas around the head and neck). Most of the chalk nowadays is non-toxic. Whew!
The vet determined she was already fixed. There was no microchip. We had her tested and vaccinated. Our great vet gave her a bath at no charge to us - she's squeaky clean and no longer blue!
