We are helping an elderly man rehome his two adorable cats.
------
Here is what he says:
they are my Puttytats, they are both 5 years old and have been together since birth. they probably think they are siblings but i don't see how they could be. they were in the same cage when i found them in 2008 at the Brevard County Animal Services center.
my female cat's name is Puddy, my male cat's name is Tat. thus Puttytats. they are in perfect health, but i am not. i have had numerous bouts of pneumonia this year. the last one was the most severe, landing me in Holmes Regional Medical Center in critical condition in ICU for a few days. with this last bout of pneumonia, i actually collapsed and was laying in my apartment unconscious for about 30 hours until my friends found me.
i'm over the pneumonia, but i'm not 100 percent healthy. i also have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Crohn's Disease. i'm having severe problems with the cat litter box and the pet dander. i love my cats dearly, but unfortunately they are not helping my lungs. i have to find them a new home as soon as possible.
Tat, is a Maine Coon and is all black. he is fixed and is in perfect health, but beware - he likes to steal clean Q-tips and women's hair ties. he hides the hair ties and they won't be found once he has them. he also likes to hold my wrist and pet my arm.
Puddy is a Russian Blue. she is also fixed and is in perfect health. but beware - she loves to steal my pens, pencils, and especially the stylus for my cell phone. i swear they plotted the theft of the stylus for days. i've look everywhere to no avail. it was in my hand on minute and gone seconds later. i've asked them very nicely to return it, but they just look at me and laugh. Puddy loves to play fetch, she taught herself one day. she also loves to jump from high areas like a loft, down to the main living area and run right back up the steps to the loft and repeat the process. she will only stop when i pick her up and hold her until her pounding heart settles down. Puddy taught herself to play fetch with a small yellow ball, she even plays fetch with her other toys. Tat on the other hand, he likes to grab my arm and pet my wrist. When I'm sick, they will bring me all their toys and then lay next to me.
i love my babies. i don't want to lose them, but i have to put my health first, usually i put my cat's needs before mine. but i can't do that this time, so it means finding them a new home as soon as possible. they are indoor cats. always have been. i've had them since they were little babies, maybe a month old. can you please help me and my Puttytats. they have been together since birth and i don't want to separate them.
they are very friendly with strangers. too friendly sometimes. they were supposed attack cats, the only one they ever attack is me when i oversleep in the morning. then keep head butting me until i wake up. and if i'm laying in bed and move my foot, puddy will attack my foot. she loves to play.
they were around two other cats for a while and those cats were also indoor cats and well pampered. they got along with the other cats fairly well.
they don't know what a dog is. they saw one and couldn't figure out how to react. they didn't run or hiss, just a few meows and a strange look like "what are you?"
