Wooly came to our rescue from the County Shelter. He was severely matted and completely filthy! It took me some time to get him cleaned up. He actually holds still for a period of time for the clippers, so I know some one used to take proper care of him. Wooly is named for his wooly curly fur. I have to brush him regularly or his coat begins to look ratty and begins to get dread locks. His markings are just beautiful and simetrical. He has a little button nose. With such a flat face it means that his nasal passage is very short, so he has watery eyes and sometimes snores. I thought the snoring was funny, wait til you hear the sound he makes when he attempts to groom himself!. Because of the shape of his face he will need a flat dish or a bow topped off for him to be able to eat. Wooly has such a beautiful ruff under his chin but I have to keep that trimmed or brushed daily because he puts his whole face in the water bowl. ( has to be full so he can reach with his mouth). Persians are high maintenance pets. Wooly is a little shy at first. When he was in the large kennel he was just as cordial and lovey as can be. When I let him out to rome the house, he became elusive. I am able to sweet talk him into letting me hold him. He is such a clown at times. You can see the poses in the photos. Hi will need a little patiience and alot of love.
