This absolutely sweetie of a momma cat was at the county shelter. Look at her dark pewter coat and her luminous eyes!! She was just under a year old when we pulled her from the county shelter, so we think she was born last summer. We were calling her MommaCat but now we gave her a real name - Moonstone!
We pulled her from the county shelter - her surviving kitten is a grey manx female - cute as a button (named Asha, has been adopted).
MoonStone also graciously took another kitten (male) who is about the same size who was found on the roof (!) at FishLips at the port and the waitresses called us. We talked to Charity, then Lisa, but Kelly is the one who showed up to give us the kitten! It was a team working to get this kitten to rescue and we appreciate them going the extra mile! This little guy's eyes opened on 8/30 so there are only a couple of days' difference in the ages between him and her kitten Asha. Of course we just HAD to name this little guy FishLips. Who could resist? LOL
Then she took another kitten -- what a great momcat -- she took a little brown tabby female who is about 2 weeks younger, we named this kitten Mystery.
THEN....yes she took ANOTHER KITTEN - everyone was weaning age except Mystery, but Moonstone took a black & white tuxedo female (Little Girl) who is about the same age as Mystery (6-7 weeks)!
And of course, she took Ringo under her wing, too!! She lets him comfort nurse on her even though he is past weaning age! (Mystery and all the other kittens she nursed have gone to their new homes).
Moonstone loves to play and lounges around with other cats and kittens and they all groom each other - she's one of those "buddy" cats who likes being with other cats. So we would place her in a home with another young cat.
