Description:

PAWS adopts out kittens in pairs, or adopts to a home with another young kitty (3 yrs or so).

Boots is sibling to Pebbles & Smokey.

Here's their story: A momcat had a litter of kittens in Cocoa on a lady's porch. She fed and gave water to momcat. We tried trapping the mom but she is smart and would not go in. About a week later she abandoned Pebbles and Smokey and moved her other babies away, so these 2 came to us on July 30. Boots came to us August 10 after he showed up alone without momcat to eat kibble on the porch where they were born.

Residents have been looking for momcat and the other 2 kittens but have not found them yet.

Meanwhile, in foster care, all are acclimated to living the good life -- indoors!  They have flea control applied, and have been de-wormed. They will be fixed as soon as possible, right now they only weigh about 1.75 pounds and they must be over 2 pounds to have surgery. They grow at different rates, so weight varies for each kitten.

Our foster moms have a keen eye for kittens, and notice when one is not doing what the others are. In this case, Boots was not jumping - to get up on something he would try to climb instead of use his back legs to jump. He would also refrain from kitten wrestling with his siblings. He would stay away from people more than usual, likely because touching caused him discomfort. We sent him to the kitty chiropractor!! His left rear leg was affected from a pelvis rotation. Just 3 days later, his foster mom is amazed at the difference. He is running, jumping, playing, OK with being touched, the works!
