Description: Emma was living at a rental where her owner was not home for months at a time.
her rescuer gave the story: When I arrived her water was black and she was desperately crying at the top of her lungs when I was trying to enter the home for attention and to just be pet and so happy to see a human. When the cleaning lady came over she said she is the only one that gives her new crunchy food and water which clearly she wasn't doing a great job at. I was shocked when she told me this little precious kitty had been left for over a year and a half at a time numerous times with just a kitty door for her to go in and out amidst the many strangers of air bnb guests that would come and go. Basically she was left alone for many years at a time as the owner just used the home for rental income.
After staying with her while on my job assignment for a few months I obviously fell in love with her. Then one day she had gotten into some pollen and it was her first asthma attack. I told the owner I needed to bring her to the vet which i did and after that the owner asked if I would be her forever mom in which I said yes.
So I flew her from kansas to florida end of June and I have had her since.
The worst thing ever happened because the rental I was in with her for the last 4 months was an invisible killer. Emma had 2 asthma attacks and no one could understand. Then from the beginning of being in the rental I began to go in and out of the hospital again no one could tell me anything. It was only until recently mold testing was done and the results came back positive. So sadly we were both being poisoned. Gratefully emma has bounced back & is ok taking a pill every other day.
She loves playing in a drawer or laying in it and her favorite toy is the feathers on that stick. Even though she was declawed when I got her bless her soul she loves a scratching post. She is spayed and had up to date shots.
