We got this litter on Sept 21. They are from a very rural area in Florida where they would be put to sleep because the mom cat tested positive for FIV. The mom cat and her babies came from a hoarding situation.
If you've done your research you know the kittens usually test negative at 6 months, 99% of them. Even if they don't it's not a big deal.
We think they will be ready to go toward the end of September, and we definitely want the kittens to go in pairs.
The mom cat has longer fur so it's hard to tell with these kittens if they will have longer fur or short.
PAWS adopts out kittens in pairs, or adopts to a home with another young kitty (3 yrs or so).
Here is why -- this is the best article we have found to explain: http://meowcatrescue.org/resources/articles/12/single-kitten-syndrome/
If you are interested in adopting, please go to www.pawsfla.com and click on the Adoption Policy menu, from there you will find the online application link.
The adoption process typically goes as follows:
- you submit an application
- foster mom reviews, and will contact you by email
- upon approval, foster mom will coordinate an adoption location/time.... or your deposit to hold young kittens
- foster mom will email, call or text to coach as needed to help integrate your new kitty
