This little guy was at the county shelter and had a very slight case of mange, which was very easily treated.
PAWS was asked by the county to pull him, as he was a bit timid and needed some hands-on.
Omar is tested, has first vaccines, & is fixed!
We were about to get his final vaccines and he got a little bit of a drippy eye so we are holding off for a week to see if it resolves if it doesn't we will put him on antibiotics.
After some one-on-one work, Omar is a total snuggle bug and a limp noodle when petted. OK with children and other cats. He adores his petting sessions... He definitely loves to be picked up and doesn't shy away, unless he's being playful.
See his video, he saw himself in the mirror!!! LOL
PAWS adopts out kittens in pairs, or adopts to a home with another young kitty (3 years old, or so).
Here is why -- this is the best article we have found to explain: http://meowcatrescue.org/resources/articles/12/single-kitten-syndrome/
If you are interested in adopting, please go to www.pawsfla.com and click on the Adoption Policy menu, from there you will find the online application link.
The adoption process typically goes as follows:
- you submit an application
- foster mom reviews, and will contact you by email
- upon approval, foster mom will coordinate an adoption location/time.... or your deposit to hold young kittens
- foster mom will email, call or text to coach as needed to help integrate your new kitty
