Description: Lucy was in a feral colony and showed promise to be friendly after we trapped her so she was sent to a home with children, large dogs, other cats, and she did well but needed a little more hands-on, and now is doing great.
Lucy is playful and active and is learning to be calm and relaxed around her foster mom's dog. She's always very excited to see her foster mom and loves to be picked up and snuggled. She especially likes being held so she can curl up at your neck and give you kisses. She loves being scratched and always leans in for more. She'll be very happy with someone looking for a cuddly lap cat.
Note: During Lucy's spay her right ovary could not be found. We had her 2nd surgery and it was found, very small, and noted she has a really small or possibly no right kidney, which we were told is common with a small right ovary. Our vet told us kitties with this usually live normal lives.
A role model friendly kitty would be a great buddy for her. PAWS adopts out kittens in pairs, or adopts to a home with another young kitty (3 yrs or so).
Here is why -- this is the best article we have found to explain: http://meowcatrescue.org/resources/articles/12/single-kitten-syndrome/
If you are interested in adopting, please go to www.pawsfla.com and click on the Adoption Policy menu, from there you will find the online application link.
The adoption process typically goes as follows: - you submit an application - foster mom reviews, and will contact you by email - upon approval, foster mom will coordinate an adoption location/time.... or your deposit to hold young kittens - foster mom will email, call or text to coach as needed to help integrate your new kitty
