Description:

DOB August 24, 2005. Purebred Ragamuffin adults, brother and sister, blue points were turned in together.  Both are fixed and up to date on shots.

They were originally purchased as purebreds and the family gave them up in 2008 due to allergies. They went to rescue (Domino's House) and were adopted.  Recently, the new owner has passed away so they are available again at age 4!  The third time is the trick, right?!

They are used to being around an active small poodle, and an older gentle dog.  They are used to older children, and enjoy a canned food treat.

These cats are VERY large and their coat - as I have found out - does not require daily brushing. That is a perk of the Ragamuffin breed. I like it - lots less for me to do!

 Bonnie is over 11 pounds.

I took pix within minutes of bringing them into the bathroom!  They're very outgoing, friendly, and rarin' to go!

I sent these pix to a purebred rescue, so from looking at the pix I was told these cats are more like Himalayans than Ragdolls so even though the last rescue who had them said they were Ragdolls. Now, however I have pulled all the paperwork from various vets who saw these cats. I now have a complete veterinary history and found out these cats were sold as Ragamuffins!  Now, the plot thickens as we found out the breeder of these cats in Port St Lucie, FL, is mixing Ragdolls with Persians. This is an acceptable mix for a Ragamuffin. So based on this info from the Ragamuffin rescue groups, we are showing them now as Persian/Ragdoll mix because most people do not know what a Ragamuffin is!!! Whew.

Now you see how difficult it is to turn in your cats to rescue without complete records. So far we have called 2 vet offices and the previous owner who purchased these guys as kittens. Lucky for us the family has the same phone number, and we were able to track down some history. We want to be sure we have as much correct information as possible.  Most people leave pets with minimal information at shelters, which can lead to another round of vaccines for the poor pet (dog, cat, ferret) and this can lead to cancer and vaccine reactions...it is best to give all the info you can so the pet has a better, healthier chance at a new home. (OK off my soapbox)

We also found they had never been tested for Feline Leukemia (based on all previous vet records, we have yet to see breeder records - who knows maybe that's next...) so a vet tech came by our foster home and did the tests. They were both negative - whew!

They both were already microchipped but the chips were not registered. This is how I found the original vet and original neuter/spay dates, because the chip company, AVID had the name of the clinic who bought that "lot" of chips. So, I have registered them now. Note if you have your animal chipped please register because otherwise how are they going to know who the owner is?!?! They can't return them to a vet clinic! LOL

We have updated their rabies, these two are good on vaccines for 3 yrs -- until 2012.

We have contacted their original rescuer, Domino's House in Palm City. We may need to send them back to Maris, who agreed to take them back if I am unable to place them.  They are very sweet cats, however, they are crammed in my guest bathroom because I really didn't have room for them but they were on Craigslist which is not the best place for rescues, in my opinion.

Please spread the word so we can place these quickly. Based on their personality, I have taken 2 weeks to work with them, and I decided they can go separately - if they stay together Clyde tends to overshadow Bonnie. I have them separated now and Bonnie is coming out of her shell.
