Moon Pie didn't have a mom so the county shelter put her (and her 3 siblings) onto Marigold, who only had one kitten of her own (Marshmallow).
Moon Pie and his 3 siblings were over 10 days younger than the kitten Marshmallow! So Marshmallow, being bigger, was taking most of the space at the "eatery" .... so as soon as Marshmallow got old enough to start weaning, we moved her to another foster home.
So, momcat Marigold, her baby Marshmallow, and her "new babies" Moose, Moon Pie, Morty, and Macaroni, were all pulled from the county shelter.
Moon Pie is the runt so he went to a bottle feeder too, and is now catching up quick!
PAWS adopts out kittens in pairs, or adopts to a home with another young kitty (3 yrs or so).
Here is why -- this is the best article we have found to explain: http://meowcatrescue.org/resources/articles/12/single-kitten-syndrome/
If you are interested in adopting, please go to www.pawsfla.com and click on the Adoption Policy menu, from there you will find the online application link.
