Yuki was at the Brevard County shelter. As many folks know they are now calling themselves no-kill but the way they do it is they just dump nice, tame cats like Yuki back on the street - typically only giving them 5 days stray time and 5 days to be adopted. So many of the smaller rescues (without the 3.8M budget) are taking these cats so they don't go back on the street, and fostering them until they are adopted.
Our foster moms know that white cats do not survive as well on the street becuase they are prey for owls and other night predators (glow in the dark food). You realize most of the stray cats you see are dark or have a pattern...yep. There's a reason for that. Camouflage.
So, we took Yuki. As you see he is OK being picked up. He came into the foster home not even fazed by the dogs and the cats already here. He has a great personality.
