Avery has beat the odds! When he arrived with the Cinco kittens, he was barely 7oz and both eyes contracted the virus making him blind. Because of this and upper respiratory congestion, he was very weak and could not find mom to feed. With 5 siblings, getting to her milk was impossible and thus he was not thriving. Constant meds and bottle feeding slowly turned this little guy around. One eye had erupted and no sight would come back or so we thought. We were hopeful the other eye would heal enough to see something. A third trip to the veterinary ophthalmologist brought the best news ever. Avery has sight out of the right eye and there is hope for the left! Kittens are known to have miraculous ability to heal severe eye problems but we had no way of knowing Avery would be one of these little miracles. His left eye may need surgery to remove scar tissue but for now, he is growing and up to 12oz. Avery is a tiny bundle of joy and wanting to play more with his sibs although they are twice his size. Avery is a survivor and thriving more each day. Lucky? No, SUPER LUCKY.
