Description: We pulled this cutie from the county shelter, she was listed as a blind kitten, needing a medical rescue transfer. We could see immediately she likely had glaucoma. We made an appointment at the eye specialist and they agreed. We have special drops for her as we are going to try to treat it (it is rare in kittens so the dr is very interested to see what happens). He says she likely has birth defects but she can still see.
Her personality is like a ragdoll kitty, you can hold her any which way, she just lounges in your arms. The staff at the eye specialist fell in love with her.
UPDATE (October 2017): Dolly went back to the specialist and he agreed to stop the drops because she really dislikes those! After we stopped them, there was no problem, her eyes stayed stable (no swelling) and we even went back for a recheck and the eye pressure was fine. So Dolly has no eye meds but the specialist agrees she should go to her forever home soon, because her eyesight may eventually completely go. At this point we believe she sees blobs and that is about all.
Dolly is still the sweestest EVER. Just melts in your arms. However the kittens who have sight are targeting her and being mean, so we need to find her a home pronto!!
Her fundraiser is at www.gofundme.com/dollys-glaucoma.
