Description:
This really nice guy was at the county shelter. When he was not adopted, they were going to do what is called "return to field". That means they fix him, eartip him, and give him vaccines and a microchip (not tracked) and put him back on the street where he was found.
Local rescues like ours are trying to intercept these extremely tame cats before they are forced to live a street life again. Oliver is one of those who we just took from the county before they dumped him back on the street (this is a practice we do not agree with for tame cats).
So, Oliver is tested, vaccinated, fixed, dewormed, the works and even has a microchip. He is very outgoing, loves to be petted, and despite his new surroundings (a foster home where there are already other cats) he is not hissing or freaked out at all, he comes right to us in his cage instead of cowering or trying to hide. And he's only been here 10 minutes!
It's clear that Oliver is a total sweetie who gets along in any situation! We will post more pictures as he settles in - the one shown here is from when he was at the county shelter. He is one of those who loves to be petted so much it makes taking a picture a true challenge because he's moving around!
