Description: DOB appx Nov 2003, DSH b/w tux spayed female. She was pulled from the Eau Gallie kill room. Originally she was found as a stray near Rusty's at the port. Ruthie actually made herself at home on day 3 in the foster room with 20 other cats - she just stepped right out of the cage and hasn't looked back yet. She helps "groom" the babies and despite her adulthood, she plays just like a kitten! She is an adult though so she plays rough, some of the juveniles she plays with cry 'uncle'!!! Her foster parents are laughing at her antics every day :) She loves attention. She has won the "relaxed cat" award in the foster room. Every single day she is right there on the carpet, right in the middle of the walkway, and we constantly just step over her - she isn't disturbed by it at all! We especially like her little black toe pads, how cute! Ruthie is "fixed", has her shots, wormed, tested..... As is the case with so many cats in the south, some test positive for Bartonella (spread by fleas). Ruthie was around cats who had Bartonella, so we have treated her too. Cats who have already had Bartonella cannot get it again, which is a plus! Bartonella treatments cost close to $100 per cat... Donations are welcome, thanks! Please note on your check which cat you are donating toward, so it goes to the right foster mom to pay the right vet bill. :)
