Description:
Ellie and her siblings came to us as c-section kittens. The person that had mom cat was getting her spayed when the vet realized that she had four almost to term kittens. They spayed mom cat and saved the kittens. Mom cat couldn't nurse and that is when PAWS was called.
The kittens were about a week too early and had a bad start to life. We lost one, but the three others thrived.
At about 4 months old, we noticed that they were having labored breathing. We took them to the vet cardiologist and that's when we found out they had enlarged hearts and heart murmurs. The vet does not know how long they will live since they have major heart problems.
We don't think it's fair to adopt them out, knowing that their life span could be extremely short.
So the foster mom will keep and love them for as long as they have.
We have spent over $2000 so far for their vet care including cardiologist visits, blood panels, spay/neutering, electrocardiogram, and etc.
